A copy of the Google Now weather card on my homescreen. Bringing the 4.1 to my 4.0 rom.

    To Do List:
    - A tasker profile to call weather.gov’s webservice with a call based on latitude/longitude, use perl for android to run an xslt and output comma separated values, parse the info in tasker to have more detailed weather info.
-Use the more detailed weather info to update images of current conditions (sunny, cloudy, raining, etc)
-Maybe make a custom Google Search bar to match the look in Google Now

Very nice, where can I find the dock icons?

  12. Posted 2012/07/06 at 10:31 pm | Permalink

@vrekeno I pulled the icons from the Google Now app…find a jelly bean system dump or rom and open the /system/app/velvet.apk in 7-zip. open up the res folder and then drawable-xhdpi…extract all the images and enjoy.

@yhbrandon I finished a blog post with excruciating detail of how I used tasker to create my homescreen weather widget. http://www.jordanhotmann.com/2012/07/android-take-tasker-to-next-level-with.html

See the download link at the bottom for scripts, background, and icons.

@djswaggdotcom You are my best friend ever. I tore the Google Now apk apart but couldn’t find the weather icons. I don’t understand where they are being pulled from.

@djswaggdotcom Thanks for sharing the icons. I made some night icons using them and threw together a Weather Eye icon set using these. Let me know if you’re interested.
