A mix of UCCW, Minimalistic Text, and transparent icons. These circles are part of the wallpaper. I have used several blank icons over the circles to get functionality.

nice. unique way to utlilize a wallpaper. minimal, crowded, simple and functional. whats the launcher and grid dimensions?

  4. Posted 2012/07/26 at 7:51 am | Permalink

    @bill11222 thanks I appreciate that :) adw ex 7×8.

  5. Posted 2012/07/26 at 8:07 am | Permalink

question…is it possible to import new fonts to use with simple text? if so, can i use the same font folder i use for minimal text or should i copy the fonts to another folder?

  6. Posted 2012/07/26 at 8:21 am | Permalink

@bill11222 for simple text fonts put in this folder
    sdcard/simple text/fonts

Thanks for tagging everything mate. Very useful! :)

  9. Posted 2012/07/26 at 9:21 am | Permalink

thanks t. i’ll do that. one more question..(sorry)…i have my fonts in a folder that’s accessible for minimal text (fonts folder). could i put all the fonts in simple text and change the default folder for minimal to the simple text folder, or should i copy them to the simple text folder?

  10. Posted 2012/07/26 at 9:33 am | Permalink

@bill11222 yep, you could just put them all in the simple text folder and change minimalistic text default font folder to that one. makes everything easier :)

thanks. i’m new to android and really loving everything about the OS. took me a few days to figure out how to unzip the font files :) thanks for your support. would it be OK if i ask you some UCCW questions in a few days? i just started playing with it and like to wrestle with new apps for a few days before i reach out for help

  12. Posted 2012/07/26 at 9:50 am | Permalink

@bill11222 not a prob… have you checked out the UCCW thread on xda? Lots of info and amazing clocks.

  13. Posted 2012/07/26 at 10:02 am | Permalink

i know there are skins there etc. usually i go there for apk’s. when i try to read a thread there i end up feeling stupid! and quite often the advice they give is for rooted phones (i’m not rooted but looking into it). i’ll give it a look tomorrow and also watch some youtube tutorials.

thanks t. i’ll be stalking u…ummm…contacting you via your future screen postings.

afternoon t. i made my first UCCW widget. i used the existence-light font. i also used this font with minimalistic text for a horizontal text/clock widget. the rendering on the UCCW widget is not good. the characters in the UCCW widget are smaller than the MT widget. the characters for MT widget are crisp while the UCCW widget is somewhat pixelated. have you ever experienced this?

one more thing…i’ve completed and saved this skin. i close the UCCW app but when i re-open the app it takes me to this last skin. how can i clear this skin and begin creating a new one?

i’m really trying to get a clean screen with the functionality i need for daily use.

  18. Posted 2012/07/27 at 4:02 am | Permalink

@bill11222 to start with a clean slate with UCCW you will have to create a new widget. From there it will ask you if you want to create a new skin or load an existing one.

As far as pixelated characters on UCCW, I haven’t experienced that as of yet. MT has more ways to tweak your text but output quality has been the same for me.

  19. Posted 2012/07/27 at 4:33 am | Permalink

scratch the how to start a new widget question. i’m assuming after saving you just deconstruct/modify the old skin.

still getting fuzzy characters with girolight font. at first i thought i had downloaded a gimpy font but notice on both of my UCCW skins that the circle battery widget, which is native to the app, exhibits the same lack of crispness. the alpha levels are maxed out and the shadow levels all at a neutral zero.

i have a galaxy S2 skyrocket and the resonance of my metro icons are sharp so it’s not having a crappy phone issue.

any feedback would be appreciated t

i posted my UCCW skin. i’m using nova launcher 8×5 grid and intentionally changed the wallpaper to a high res ipad wallpaper. i’m not being funny, but laugh if you want, i just started wearing glasses a few weeks back and was wondering if i am not the best for reviewing resonance issues. what do you think?

  22. Posted 2012/07/27 at 5:02 am | Permalink

p.s. this is not a finished skin so don’t judge me!

  23. Posted 2012/07/27 at 9:53 am | Permalink

@bill11222 lol where have you posted it?

good morning t. sorry for the late get back. i took down that theme. it was not a good screen and i figured it out. i think the poor resonance was due to using a very thin font stretched too far over the grid, i posted another theme i’m very happy with and feeling like i have a handle on UCCW. i’m hoping to post a tight, icon free yet fully functional screen this weekend. again, thanks so much for your support man

  27. Posted 2012/07/28 at 5:13 am | Permalink

@bill11222 anytime man. Checked out your UCCW skin… looks great! You should share it on xda

@Mstammi sure ill post it up in a few. That’s actually for texts… uccw. You can used a ‘missed it’ widget for emails tho

just noticed your feedback on my uccw skin.
thanks! I came back to look at your response about importing fonts to simple text. ill be out of the screen designing game for a week or so. my Mac died and I’m looking for something other than an apple product. sick and tired of them suing everyone one! sucks cause I had a shit load of wallpapers on my laptop as well as icon I had not transferred to my s2.

any recommendations? I’ve been a Mac guy for over 10yrs

  37. Posted 2012/08/04 at 8:56 am | Permalink

@bill11222 that sucks! My sony vaio is nothing to write home about but it suits me well :). I’m more of a desktop type myself. Id be pissed about loosing the icons and walls… sorry bro.

  38. Posted 2012/08/04 at 10:26 pm | Permalink

I got most of the icon packs here so with some work I can recover them. next month I’m due for a free update w att and will get either the s3 or the note. leaning towards the s3 so it will be my first android file transfer so ill be hitting u up for advice with this process

  39. Posted 2012/08/04 at 11:34 pm | Permalink

@bill11222 sounds good. You’ll love the s3… my only gripe is that usb mass storage mode is gone. I hear there are some work arounds if you have root. Ill be rooting mine this weekend :)

  40. Posted 2012/08/05 at 3:33 am | Permalink

I wanted to root my s2 but then att really messed up and opened the door for a free upgrade. I’ve never rooted before but have done some preliminary research. have you rooted a phone before? regardless, good luck with the procedure t

  41. Posted 2012/08/06 at 8:40 am | Permalink

@bill11222 yep I’ve rooted the last 6 phones I’ve had. I usually play with my phone for a few weeks before I jump in and root. Just finished rooting my s3 and it was easier than any other rooting process I’ve done. Now off to find some roms to flash
