  23. Posted 2012/09/02 at 10:38 am | Permalink

which picture frame widget is that? on the market ?

  24. Posted 2012/09/02 at 11:05 am | Permalink

@jamir5 oh i see, well i’m on jelly bean. the picture gallery widget lets you pick a picture, but it’s a small box, doesn’t take up half the screen like yours :(

  25. Posted 2012/09/02 at 11:33 am | Permalink

@ceejay did you try to resize?
try to use apex or nova and choose resizable widget on the settings of the launcher.
@vduphan its just the default pic frame widget of galery on ics. :)

  26. Posted 2012/09/02 at 11:52 pm | Permalink

@jamir5 yep i did, set my layout to 10×10 also. still a small frame :( i’m on a galaxy nexus btw

  27. Posted 2012/09/03 at 9:10 am | Permalink

how bout settings on the launcher to resize widget?

  28. Posted 2012/09/04 at 12:50 am | Permalink

Very nice setup! I really enjoyed this! I’ll try to replicate on my SGS :) Do you mind sharing what icon you used for weather? Thank you :)

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it on one of your comments! Simi Weather :)

  29. Posted 2012/09/04 at 8:14 am | Permalink

    thanks Henrique :)
    yup its simi weather.

    @ceejay
you may also use desktop visualizer for the image.forgot to tell you that :)

I have successfully replicated this on my SGS, it is really good, I like it a lot! Some tips to the folks trying to replicate:

I had the same 10×10 grid issue with icons getting cropped. The closest I got was a 9×6 grid and then tried to maintain the same overall distance between elements.

About the picture frame, it is always a square, not a rectangle, no matter how I resize it (using Apex Pro). So, instead, I merged that image to the wallpaper and applied the same frame effect that the widget creates. This also helps to save memory for my little SGS. About weather widget, I’m using WeatherEye, because it’s one of the few that updated because of the massive weather bug caused by Google shutting down its weather API.

I have also changed/removed/added some small things here and there, but I like the end result.

Here, I’ve uploaded it so you can check out how I did it:

This screen was very inspirational, thank you very much, jamir :)
