EDIT* Some reason the tutorial won’t submit correctly (why some steps are missing) so I’m pasting it here.
Set Apex home screen to a 7×6 grid with no margins and no dock
Lined up Phone, Text, Email icons
took a screenshot
Brought the screenshot into Photoshop
Started toying with some ideas
Made the icons part of the background
Just offset of the icon graphic being a transparent icon for notification counts
Created three 1×6 Minimalistic Text widgets
with no content and transparent background
overlaying each of the Phone, Text, and email lines.
Set the widget to launch each app on touch
brought each of them to the front so the icons are behind.
Created a 4×4 UCCW, again toying some some ideas
Expanded the UCCW Widget to 5×6
Placed it in the back so it doesn’t overlap the minimalistic text widgets.
Attached reference graphic (2nd wallpaper) for widget sizes.
