I’m having issues getting the blank icon to work. I can set a different icon pack and it works just fine, but when I try and use a blank png, it doesn’t do anything.

  48. Posted 2013/08/07 at 4:45 pm | Permalink

ss shortcut > icon > blank png > apply settings
    > background image > tile > apply settings

blank png is used to get rid of the icon for the targeted app. the background image is used for the tile because if you used it as an icon you wouldn’t be able to resize it that large.

also remember the tile is set on background from the main menu, not as the icon background image

  49. Posted 2013/08/07 at 6:59 pm | Permalink

oh, ok. it looks lighter than the text used on the time. guess it’s just b/c it’s smaller text

Hello everyone! I’ve found a solution for the Nova Launcher problem. I’m talking about that problem when you press ”Back” on the app drawer of Nova Launcher, it brings you to the Nova Launcher Desktop.
To fix this, download an app called Quad Drawer (it’s not free..) or any other App Drawer application (not a Launcher!) such as Droweroid from the Google Playstore. Next, edit the ”Application Tile”. Set ”Type” to ”Application” and ”Target” to the app you just downloaded. Save & boom!

  51. Posted 2013/08/07 at 7:27 pm | Permalink

This might be a question better suited for a UCCW section, but I can’t seem to get my weather icons working. It keeps showing up as 79 degrees Fahrenheit with a rainy icon. I tried moving the icons into the UCCW/weather folder but that didn’t change anything.

  52. Posted 2013/08/07 at 8:47 pm | Permalink

@Radz @BBQGOAT My steps (Marco is another method).

New shortcut ————- style ———–Only icon (fourth row on the right) ———-Found icons ———-Setting the target application.
    *The tile as an icon.

Tile size:Press and hold the tile ———- Edit ————— Icon ————- icon size (two values must the same)

  53. Posted 2013/08/07 at 8:53 pm | Permalink

@Chileno4Live I used to press the “home” back to homescreen. Thank you for your suggestion:)

  54. Posted 2013/08/07 at 8:56 pm | Permalink

@pengu56 Your first time using UCCW weather? Or, before you UCCW is working properly.

  55. Posted 2013/08/07 at 10:58 pm | Permalink

    Thanks Chileno4Live!!!!!!!!!..

  56. Posted 2013/08/07 at 11:57 pm | Permalink

If you do not like NOVA, lightning drawer is a good choice. The only drawback is a little expensive.

  57. Posted 2013/08/08 at 6:40 am | Permalink

I fixed it using AppDrawer, that’s a free drawer, and its customizable.

However, I have another problem. My SMS counter keeps saying 1, but when i enter my messages there’s 0 unread. Any idea how to fix this?

  58. Posted 2013/08/08 at 8:54 am | Permalink

@yihaomizhijia I’ve done both actually. It was not working properly on my phone (a very old OG Droid that’s barely running), but I tried setting up my tablet with this theme and it’s working just fine. I tried both the icon and the background method and I ultimately went with the background method because it made the tiles line up much easier than using the icons only.

  59. Posted 2013/08/08 at 9:25 am | Permalink

@Aciied Not encountered this problem, I use CM10.1.

  60. Posted 2013/08/08 at 9:27 am | Permalink

@Radz Both methods are feasible, as you like.

  61. Posted 2013/08/08 at 10:46 am | Permalink

Very great setup! Been using this for a couple of days, and got it working and looking smoothly !
I also made a new tile myself, but it’s not exactly the way you made them, so new ones would be great. Or an instruction on how to make ‘em..

  73. Posted 2013/08/10 at 10:20 am | Permalink

@yihaomizhijia And for what do I need root? Cause I dont want to lose warranty if I dont need to. Thanks

  74. Posted 2013/08/10 at 10:24 am | Permalink

@Sh4d0Wx I’m not sure. If you are unable to proceed, you root it.

  75. Posted 2013/08/10 at 10:35 am | Permalink

  78. Posted 2013/08/10 at 6:47 pm | Permalink

Yes Sh4dOWx…sslauncher is the best..and will work fine w/o root

  79. Posted 2013/08/10 at 9:05 pm | Permalink

@Sh4d0Wx No root of mobile phone can do, I don’t know much about it. My cell phone just bought back is the root. Or you should listen to the opinions of others:)

  98. Posted 2013/08/20 at 10:22 pm | Permalink

@airmel My English is not good, is more difficult to explain.

SSLauncher more difficult to use, but it’s worth spending a lot of time.

First, watch instructional videos, complete basic.

Then, referring to my approach, the details better.

    * Precise wallpaper: exhaled menu ——–Select the page background (click on the “Picture” icon)————– import————- Find wallpaper

    * Precise tile: New shortcut —– style —- Only icon (fourth row on the right) —- Found tile —- Setting the target application.
    * The tile as an icon.

Tile size: Press and hold the tile —- Edit —– Icon —– icon size (two values must the same)

    * tile alignment: Use the “guide lines” to make tiles are evenly spaced (and continue to modify the size of tiles), which takes a lot of time.

    Feel free to ask.

  99. Posted 2013/08/21 at 11:31 am | Permalink

    thanks so much.
how do i get the tiles? i cannot find them anywhere?

  100. Posted 2013/08/21 at 11:37 am | Permalink

i’m unable to find these items *Wallpaper:I made or *app icons, how to i get png?

  101. Posted 2013/08/21 at 8:00 pm | Permalink

how to i get the blank png onto my phone? i’m so confused

  102. Posted 2013/08/21 at 8:50 pm | Permalink

    @airmel 1.Download my files:
    2.Install APP (SS & UCCW & NOVA)
3.Watch the video, began making theme.

  103. Posted 2013/08/22 at 8:31 am | Permalink

yeah i’ve done all of that and it works fine until i get to the part to start adding images and then he chooses quick pic. i do not have the tiles (12) that he’s selecting so i cannot get past this step. so does the dropbox need to be on my computer or my phone? sorry to be a bother, it’s just frustrating that the steps and directions don’t match

  104. Posted 2013/08/22 at 8:39 am | Permalink

@airmel Extract the files, put the SD card, the new shortcut, find the tiles.

  105. Posted 2013/08/22 at 11:38 am | Permalink

@airmel,,,most videos do not show you how to extract the rar files..that seems to be your issue…yes?

  106. Posted 2013/08/23 at 4:12 pm | Permalink

yes it is, thanks for responding. i’m so frustrated with this process because i’m new to android so i’m trying to adjust, and as you said there’s nothing that shows how to extract file, or what to use to open dropbox files…..ugh. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks

  107. Posted 2013/08/24 at 5:16 am | Permalink

Yes…I didnt get that part either…You need a file extractor like winzip..when you download the file it will look like a vice holding a barrel…double click on it and it will open that file up..sometimes thats all you need to do and it will look like a folder…other times you need to unzip it to make it look like a folder..Once it looks like a folder its been extracted and you can transfer to your cell phone SD Card or SD Card 1…I think what you are doing is trying to transfer an unextracted file which is why you dont see it…

  108. Posted 2013/08/24 at 11:13 am | Permalink

@Pwedy ok, i’ll give this a try, i really appreciate your help. do you mind if i contact you for more help if needed? thanks again

  109. Posted 2013/08/24 at 12:23 pm | Permalink

@ Airmel …Not a problem..Another good intro for you in all the basics including file transfers are BadBrad themes…..

  110. Posted 2013/08/24 at 1:15 pm | Permalink

@Pwedy thanks again, i’ll check it out

  111. Posted 2013/08/24 at 4:31 pm | Permalink

@Pwedy i found a winzip app, but it looks like a vice holding a file cabinet, so i downloaded it and it did not open the file……………..grrrrr any others that you know of that might work?

  112. Posted 2013/08/24 at 5:03 pm | Permalink

@Pwedy i just found total commander to open files, so far so good, i’ll keep you posted

  113. Posted 2013/08/24 at 10:14 pm | Permalink

@airmel…when you download a goes to your download file..from there you move it to desktop…Then you double click on the vice…it wont open it unless you click on it…then you may have to unzip it from there…to create a folder…

  114. Posted 2013/08/25 at 12:05 am | Permalink

@Pwedy ok, i’ll give it a whirl, thanks again

  115. Posted 2013/08/25 at 12:06 am | Permalink

@Pwedy do you know if there’s an app that supports multiple instagram accounts or an app that allows you to support a secondary instagram?

  116. Posted 2013/08/26 at 11:55 am | Permalink

@Pwedy this sucks, now that i think i have everything it place, i’m trying to set up the wallpaper and i get a message saying the layout has been locked……………….smh
