What’s the purpose of myColorscreen?
MyColorscreen is a new way to discover and share your device’s themes and customizations.
If you have an Android phone and want to know what widgets people are using, this is the place for you. Explore MyColorscreen , and you will find hundreds of unique android screens. To get more information about each screen, drop a line to the contributor, or just mouse over a widget and click the link to be taken to the applications website.
What about the iPhone, you ask? Well, iPhones are not completely closed once jailbroken, so customization is possible. IPhone users can also find awesome wallpapers, instructions on how to customize, and other interesting applications using MyColorscreen.
Most of all, our intention with MyColorscreen is to create a home for your devices screens, and allowing users to personalize their profile page to fit their lifestyle. We have created MyColorscreen as a home, and a knowledge center for designers, developers, and other creatives to share their work relating to mobile devices.
How do I upload my screen to the site?
- First of all, head over to the upload page, clicking the “Upload +” link on top.
- On your top left, please select which OS your devices is using. If you want to upload an iPhone screen, select iOS. If your device is running Android, then leave it and continue.
- Select the orientation you want your screen to present when uploaded. Please take note then you will not be able to change this option when the screen has been published.
- If you don’t know how to capture screens on your device, head over to FAQS, under How to capture screen, select the link that fits to your device.
- Assuming you’ve already captured the screenshot and it is now in your gallery/iPhoto, select “choose file” on the Upload page.
- Select your desire devices in the drop down provided. *NOTE* Personalized device will allow you to upload screens with your own mockup. Example.
- Select how many screens you want to include in this publish. The upload buttons will appear according to the number you’ve selected
- Select the home screen image on your PC. Once done, click upload on the side.
- Fill out the title, description of your screen, wallpaper link (try photobucket.com for free images storage, and put the link here), and the other related files link.
- Once everything is done, make sure that the file you’ve selected has now been uploaded. The blue upload button should changed to red.
- Recheck again and make sure that you’ve upload the right screens. Uploaded screens will not be bale to change after it has been published. Other details are still editable though.
- Click Publish (hit once only), and you will be taken to the screen page; you have now successfully uploaded your screen.
How to tag application?
- Assuming you’ve uploaded the screen successfully, head over to your screen page.
- In the middle column, you will notice, an + App Tag Screen 1 to 5 button. These buttons appears according to the number of screens you’ve included. Select the App Tag Screen you want to tag.
- A box will appear on the screen, select it and drag/resize the box to the application/widget you want to tag.
- Once done, start filling out the form under + App Tag Screen. Add the application name and the link to the application download page (optional)
- Click on the Add button and you are done.
How to edit application tags?
- Mouse over the screen you’ve tagged.
- Notice the white circles at the top right corner of each tag, click one of them
- You can now edit that tag my moving/resizing the tag freely or you can edit the text in the Edit App Tag form which replace the normal Add App Tag form.
- Once done, Click Add and the tag will be saved.
- If you wish to cancel the operation, simple click the Edit App Tag button to close the drop down form.
- If you wish to delete the tag, simply click the delete button near the add button.
How to Notify others about your reply?
We really understand the frustration of spam emails. Here at MyColorscreen, you will not get an email notification for every comment you’ve made.
- Go into any screens you would like to be part of the discussion
- If there are ongoing discussions within that screen page, you should notice the reply button on the right of each commentors
- Click on the reply button for the one (or several or @all) users you want to reply to.
- You will see the @ tag populating the comment box as you click the reply button.
- Comment as usual, with the generated @ inside the comment box. (you can move it around)
- Click Leave Comment and the notification should be sent to the commentor.
This function will respect the profile privacy setting. If you turned off the “notify when” privacy option, you will not receive any notification emails. You can check your settings here:
Profile > Settings > at the bottom of the page, under privacy > Make sure “Disable Notification” is selected to disable Reply Notification email and vice versa.
How to see what screens I loved in the past?
- Head over to specific screen you would like to view
- Notice the number on the side of Love button, click it.
- You will now see the other users who loves this screen.
- You can show gratitude to other contributors by loving their screens back.
How to be selected as Screen of the Day?
- Please follow the suggestions here.
- Inspired? Start uploading your best screens.
How to see who loved my screens?
- Visit your profile.
- In the second navigation on the top, click Loved.
- You should now see what screens you’ve loved in the past.
- You could also view others loved screens by doing the same steps above in their profile page
How does Contribution Points works?
From now on, everything you do within MyColorscreen will earn you contribution points. The higher points you’ve earned, the more reward you will get.
Reward Criteria:
- Every 10 contribution points you’ve earned, will give you 1 extra invite
- [Secret] There will be several secret perks for users who’ve reach certain level of contribution points
Gaining Points Criteria:
- Commenting/Tagging on screens will earn you 1 point
- Loves you gained from your upload screens will earn you 3 points
- Uploading new screens will earn you 5 points
- Invited user by you that result in a newly registered user will earn you 5 points
- If registered user invited by you invite another user that result in another newly registered user will earn you 3 points
- If registered user invited by user you’ve previously invited that result in another newly registered user will earn you 1 points
- If your screen recieved Screen of the Day Award, it will earn you 10 points
- Your points will be capped at 3000 points max (for now).
General Knowledge:

How it works:
- Simply, start contributing more, interacting with fellow creatives, and start crafting our creative community together.
What is a Profile Widgets and How do I Use it?
We’ve added a widget section in user’s profile area allowing users to integrate their profile widgets to their personal websites.
We’ve also added screen specific widgets such as More Information Buttons for Message Boards so you can attach this button below your image that will link directly to your screen page.
Other type of widget is the forum badges. The Forum Badges will be generated as [BB] code where most forums supported. You can paste this code in your signature in other forums.
How it Works:
- For Profile Widgets and Forum Badges, head over to Settings page and click on Profile Widgets next to Design button, you will see a list of available widgets. Simply copy the code provided and paste it on your website
- For Screen Specific Widgets, head over to your desire screen page. Click Embeddable codes, and copy and paste your desire widgets snippets and paste it on message boards/websites.
How do I invite other creatives?
Every users can now invite other creative minds to join MyColorscreen, by visiting the invite page. The invite is capped at 5 invites per user. There are ways for users to earn more invite and will be illustrated in the next few paragraphs.
How it works:
- Visit the invite page.
- You need the person’s name and email address to invite them.
- Fill in all the required field.
- You can also write your personal message to the person who you want to invite.
- Click Invite when all the required fields are filled.
How to upload background to your screen page and profile?
- Notice your username on the top right side of the screen? Click on the side arrow to pull out the dropdown menu
- Click on Settings
- Once on the Profile Settings page, click on Design at the sub-top navigation pane of the settings page
- You have 2 options here, if you want to use one of our available backgrounds, select one from the list of available background and you are done
- If you want to use your own, use the upload form below, and choose your own background image
- Once you’ve selected your background on your computer, click upload on the side. Now all your screen pages and main profile will display this image as a background.
